Welcome to Ansantawae Lodge #89 A.F. & A.M.
[This is a work in progress and more will be posted shortly]
Chances are that if you are reading this page, you have an interest in masonry and are looking for more information. Well, you’re in the right place. I’d like to take a moment and give you a breif idea of what masonry is about and dispell some of those myths you’re been reading about.
Let’s start with some of those myths…
Q: Are you a cult?
A: No, we are a fraternity. However in college, you are either asked to join, or you have to ask to join. In masonry, you have to ask to join. We do not solicit for members. You must come to us of your own free will.
Q: Are you a secret socity?
A: No, we are very active in our communities and are front and center with our principals and ideals. However, we do have secrets. Just like any fraternity, we have our own ways of recognizing each other as brothers.
Q: What’s with the apron?
Q: How do I learn more?
A: Contact us. We’ll be happy to meet with you at our lodge and answer as many of your questions as we can.
Q: How do I become a member?
A: As I said earlier, you have to come to us, our motto is “Ask one to be one”, or Ask a mason to become a mason. If you think your ready and want to get started, click here to fill out an application for membership. (Opens a new tab on the Grand Lodge of Connecticut Website)
